The vision

Today, data analysts will look for datasets via a data catalog, do exploration in Tableau, screenshot Tableau's visualizations and paste them into reports in email clients, and then send those out to stakeholders.

With all of the tool switching within the stack, context gets lost and communications fall apart.

With Writ, the vision is to be the platform that does all of it – combining a lightweight catalog, business intelligence, report writing, and stakeholder dashboards into one experience, all embedded with real-time collaboration and AI.

Funding and more validation

Writ raised a $3.8m seed from Gradient Ventures in April 2024, and is now in testing with early customers.

Ideas are like children. You don't just need to give birth to them; you also need to raise them, teach them, challenge them, and show them the world. Giving birth to an idea is a necessary condition and sets the boundaries for so much of what it can achieve. But if you're unable to raise it to become a world champion, it isn't worth anything.
