12 little rules for navigating life and work

Over the years, I’ve noted lessons that shape how I approach life and work.

Here are 12:

  1. Great things require a plan and too little time.

  2. Don't wait for perfect. Get it done and keep moving

  3. Constraints spark creativity.

  4. Ask questions when you don’t understand—better now than later.

  5. The best ideas often divide opinion.

  6. Play matters.

  7. Regularly ask yourself: “Why am I here?”

  8. Share what you’re working on and what’s next.

  9. Take every chance to learn hands-on.

  10. Thriving without external validation requires confidence and action.

  11. Surround yourself with people you enjoy and admire.

  12. A simple hello can lead to countless opportunities.

Ideas are like children. You don't just need to give birth to them; you also need to raise them, teach them, challenge them, and show them the world. Giving birth to an idea is a necessary condition and sets the boundaries for so much of what it can achieve. But if you're unable to raise it to become a world champion, it isn't worth anything. -lobochrome
